Dr. Casey Paleos
The Role of Spiritual Realities in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy


Casey Paleos, MD is a psychiatrist and researcher with over 13 years of experience in the use of psychedelic medicines for the treatment of mental health disorders, dating back to his work as a Study Therapist in the landmark Psilocybin Cancer Anxiety Study at NYU, where he also served as Co-Principal Investigator in the NYU-Bellevue Ketamine for Depression Study. He has been serving patients in his private practice with both Ketamine Infusion Therapy and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy since 2016.
From 2018 to 2023, Dr. Paleos served as a Principal Investigator and Study Therapist for the MAPS-sponsored MDMA-Assisted Therapy for PTSD Phase 3 Clinical Trials, and has served MAPS as an MDMA-Assisted Therapy Supervisor since 2022. He also serves as a Lead Trainer at Fluence, a company that offers continuing education training and mentorship to psychotherapists and medical professionals in the areas of psychedelic harm reduction, psychedelic integration therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
He is the co-founder of Nautilus Sanctuary, a non-profit psychedelic research, education and advocacy organization. Currently, in anticipation of FDA approval for MDMA-assisted therapy in late 2024, he is in the process of co-founding InnerMost, a Public Benefit Corporation that is creating a Center of Excellence in New York City, for delivery of and practicum training in psychedelic-assisted therapy, with a mission to establish and promote sustainable best practices and to remove socioeconomic barriers to high-quality treatment access.
